Session Guide

How to bring intention to your session

Details

What to Expect in Our Session

We may do a quick "conversation" to get us going. I will ask you about what makes you comfortable and what you desire to get out of the session while I set up. We'll move around the studio and make full use of the space we're in. It'll go quick, but we'll gather a lot and I'll send you shots within a week of our shoot date.

Setting your Intention

1.  This is a co-creative session

Think of it like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich—each of us brings something different, and together it creates something better than either one alone. During the session, both you and I may have creative ideas or impulses, and when they align, we’ll build on them together. This could be as simple as adjusting a pose slightly or saying, “Can we try this angle?” or “Can we put on a song from my playlist?” At times, I may guide the direction, and at other times I’ll invite you to lead with your ideas.

2.  Take some time to prepare and reflect

Think about what you’re bringing to the session—your outfits, your energy, and how your clothing moves and flatters you. Consider what you want to capture and what inspires you. I highly encourage creating a Pinterest board or saving images and poses that resonate with you. Share them with me—I’d love to see what inspires you and learn more about your vision.

3.  Spend a little time in front of the mirror

Notice your expressions, posture, and the way you naturally carry yourself. Practice expressing those qualities forward. Think of a moment that makes you genuinely smile or feel confident—something that helps you step out of your thoughts and into your most natural, present self.

From my side:
My goal is always to capture you in an authentic way. That’s what transforms a good portrait into a meaningful one—something honest, expressive, and full of personality. I’m really looking forward to collaborating with you. Get excited—we’re going to create something great together! And, I really want to say THANK YOU!
